Savio Vega showed up at WWE Backlash, and fans loved seeing him make that cameo. Puerto Rican fans were on fire for the entire night, and they loved seeing the former WWE Superstar make a return. It turns out that Savio Vega has two special people to thank for getting the ball rolling.

While speaking with Tom Campbell, Savio Vega revealed how his WWE return came together. He said that it is all thanks to Damian Priest and Bad Bunny for setting it up.

“They got in contact with me because this is the mastermind of Damian Priest and Bad Bunny. They’re both fans of me and I discovered that when I went to the farewell of The Undertaker.”

“I saw Damian Priest there and I went to him, ‘Hey man, how you doing? I want to take a picture with you.’ He said, ‘No, I want to take a picture with you.’”

“So I talked to him a little bit there. We don’t talk too much but we keep in touch by phone. This idea was them, more Damian Priest.”

Savio Vega and Carlito both made one-off appearances at WWE Backlash. It was a great addition for the live fans, and it only added to how special that event was. We’ll have to see when he shows up next, but Savio Vega certainly knows that WWE fans haven’t forgotten about him.

WWE higher-ups were impressed by Carlito’s Backlash cameo. There was also hope that fans will see him more often, but that’s not happening this week. The official WWE video of Carlito’s surprise appearance brought in 3.9 million views on social media as of Sunday. The clip was also performing well on YouTube, with over 1.1 million views.

WWE Backlash was an event that nobody will soon forget. Hopefully, it means that WWE won’t forget the island for another twenty years as well.
