It was previously reported that Carlito might have more WWE appearances in his future. He has turned down offers in the past, but you never know if his mind might change after Backlash.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Carlito received massive praise backstage after his return. It was also noted that there are no current plans for Carlito to appear again for WWE, but his cameo at Backlash went over bigger than they even expected.

Another spot that WWE sources were very happy with was the return of Carlito. Several backstage spoke about how much Carlito had matured since his WWE run, and said that the reaction from the crowd was “even better than expected.” There have been numerous pitches over the last couple of years to bring Carlito in for runs or even full-time. Fightful has been told that as of this weekend, Carlito’s appearance with WWE was a one-off, but that could always change.

WWE has many legends from the past that they can bring in, but Carlito might have another legit run in him. At 44-years-old, he is in fantastic shape and can still go in the ring. Even if Carlito doesn’t make a return to WWE, it was still great to see him in Puerto Rico.

Carlito received one of the biggest pops of the night from Puerto Rican fans who followed him, even after his WWE departure. Now, it seems the door is not closed to the possibility of seeing more of him in the company. Only time will tell if they can work something out.
