The WWE is full of talented Superstars who have competed in various companies over the years before calling WWE their home. That said, a lot of talent have also left the company for various reasons. This includes Matt Cardona, whose WWE return rumors continue to gain steam. That said, it appears Cardona won’t return to the company if he doesn’t get a top spot.

For those who don’t know, Matt Cardona was known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE. He struggled to gain significant screen time and was unable to truly break out as a star there. He was eventually released by WWE in 2020 and went on to become the Indy God in the independent circuit.

Ringside News also exclusively reported that Matt Cardona is on WWE’s radar for a return. Naturally, fans continue to speculate whether Cardona would ever return to Vince McMahon’s company.

While speaking with the Heated Shenanigans podcast, Matt Cardona was asked about returning to WWE in the future. Cardona made it clear that he won’t ever return to WWE unless they give him a top spot.

“I’m not gonna come back to, you know, just be on the show. I would never go back just to be back. I’ve been on the roster. I was there. Very fortunate for my time there. Spent over a decade there. But I did the whole just the guy on the roster thing. I have no desire to do that again. If I’m gonna be there, I wanna matter. And I think I proved over the past three years that I’m more than capable of holding my own. And if I ever get that opportunity again, I think I’ll prove that to the world.”

That said, Matt Cardona also believes he will return to WWE eventually. While Cardona’s wife Chelsea Green returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, only time will tell when he would make his comeback to the company.

Would you like to see Matt Cardona’s WWE return? Do you think Cardona will be successful in WWE if he returns? Let us know in the comments!
