CM Punk could be on his way back to AEW. All signs point toward his return, and a recent meeting with Chris Jericho is even more proof of that. Now, we have a few more details about what went down.

We previously reported that Wade Keller said on the PW Torch radio show that CM Punk and Chris Jericho did meet on Friday. They were in Tampa, and that is why CM Punk had to fly into Chicago on Monday.

It was said that the meeting between CM Punk and Chris Jericho went well. That being said, Keller did not mention the fact that Punk jumped over to WWE RAW and got backstage at the Allstate Center for an unannounced visit.

“I heard the meeting took place with Jericho and FTR. I think it was supposed to be on Friday I think. That might have been why was in Tampa and I just heard from one source that it went well.”

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that the meeting between Chris Jericho and CM Punk did go down. In fact, it was rather uneventful, all things considered.

We’d reported that Jericho and Punk were set to meet and speak with one another, and we’ve learned that happened over the last week. Those familiar with the situation said that the meeting was relatively uneventful all things considered, and especially when taken into consideration the issues the two have had

The outlet also noted that, “sources familiar with the situation also claimed that it seemed as if the two could end up working together without issue, but also pointed towards Punk’s recent history, as well as Jericho’s long-term history of welcoming confrontation.”

We’ll have to see if CM Punk and AEW do business together in the future. The thought is that Punk will be back by June for the company’s new show. Only time will tell if Punk’s name will be enough of a draw to carry a Saturday show for Tony Khan’s company.

What’s your take on CM Punk’s status with AEW? Do you think that he will come back better than ever? Sound off in the comments!
