John Cena’s Mermaid Loving Character From Barbie Movie Debuts At CinemaCon

John Cena has snagged a ton of roles during his time in Hollywood, and he’s set to appear in the upcoming Barbie movie. Cena’s character is after a mermaid, and he has a lot on his mind if he can get with her. Now, we’re seeing a bit more about that mermaid loving character.

As the release date of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie draws closer, IGN dropped footage of the movie that was shown at CinemaCon, featuring none other than “mermaid John Cena.” While Cena’s role was initially announced on April 4th as the love interest of a character played by Dua Lipa, it’s only now that we’re getting confirmation that Cena will also be playing a mermaid in the film.

The upcoming Barbie movie also boasts an impressive cast including Ryan Gosling as Ken and Margot Robbie as Barbie herself. Other notable names include Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Pearlman, and Michael Cera as Ken’s friend Allen.

John Cena did wrestle for the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 39, but that was a very short return, so he could work with Austin Theory. He’s been a prominent figure in Hollywood for several years now.

The new Barbie movie looks like it might be a hit with a lot of people. John Cena’s inclusion certainly caught our interest.
