Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler were getting television time as a heel team on the road to WrestleMania, and then WWE’s creative plan for them had to change. Rousey suffered an injury, and although she still worked the four-way tag team match at WrestleMania, she had to gut it out through that issue.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez beat Lita and Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles after that. Actually, Lita was injured before the match, leaving Trish Stratus to take the loss for her team before turning on Becky Lynch. Sadly, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler’s team was left out of that situation.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Ronda Rousey is still not cleared to compete. That is why WWE decided to go with Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez as Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Ronda Rousey is still not cleared, so they can’t do the Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler thing, which was the plan.

WWE has needed to switch up their plans in the past due to injuries, and this is just another example of that. Sadly, this also cost the Baddest Woman on the Planet a title run alongside her old friend.

Ronda Rousey’s injury was not what WWE had planned at all. If not for her physical issues, Rousey and Shayna Baszler would be WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Now, Liv Morgan and Raquel are champions, and it’s anyone’s guess where those titles are going from this point on.

What’s your take on this situation with Ronda Rousey? Do you think she needs to take a much longer break this time? Sound off in the comments!
