CM Punk is no stranger to drumming up the wrong kind of attention, and that is exactly what happened after All Out. His locker room brawl with The Elite made headlines all over, and it resulted in his suspension from the company. Months later, The Elite is already back, but the Second City Savior hasn’t come back. Now, it seems that Punk is more than open to the idea.

We previously reported that Dax Harwood, who speaks to CM Punk every day, said that Punk misses pro wrestling. He is apparently itching for a return of some kind, and that just might be a possibility.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that CM Punk has actually laid out numerous situations that could see him return to the company.

Punk has laid out numerous scenarios in which he’d return. Among those includes a willingness to work with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. However, we’ve heard that at least as of a few months ago, Omega and Bucks didn’t seem keen on doing that, for obvious reasons. We’re not sure if that’s changed as AEW has progressed on landing new deals with them.

Punk has also expressed his willingness to return to work for All Elite Wrestling and keep completely separate from the Elite along the way. There were some talent that were of the belief that the rumored upcoming Saturday AEW show could be used to help facilitate that with some separation to the AEW roster, but that’s not something higher ups in AEW have confirmed to us.

It was also noted that, “we’re told Punk has been open to working elsewhere, though we’re not sure if that means within the auspices of AEW such as Ring of Honor, or the likes of WWE and NJPW.” This could result in a big surprise down the line for pro wrestling fans.

We’ll have to see what happens with CM Punk from this point on. His injury is likely all good to go, and now he is waiting to see what happens next himself. Obviously, there are a number of moving pieces that need to come together in order for CM Punk’s AEW return to become a reality.

What’s your take on CM Punk’s possible AEW return? Do you think we’ll see him wrestle again this year? Sound off in the comments!
