The much-talked-about WWE and UFC merger has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced on April 3. As part of the deal, WWE and UFC will merge to form a new publicly traded company.

While many wrestling and MMA fans have been eagerly anticipating the merger, the UFC President Dana White recently commented on the upcoming merger and gave some insights into what we can expect from it.

Speaking to the AP News, White emphasized the potential of the merger and how it could benefit both companies.

“You have the power of the fanbase of WWE. You have the power of the fanbase of UFC. You have the power of the viral. We can reach all these people in so many different ways. There is a lot more resources now.”

White also spoke about the differences between the two companies and shot down the idea of any type of crossover between the promotions.

“The difference between UFC and WWE is, if you look at the WWE, they have an entertainment value, and they have these guys that are incredible athletes that go in there and do their thing. It’s well known that it’s scripted. When you look at the UFC, this is as real as it gets. That’s our tagline. There won’t really be any type of crossover.”

Despite the differences, White believes that the merger could still be a win-win situation for both WWE and UFC.

“All they have to do is pick up the phone now and say, ‘Hey, how did this happen? I need this. I need this contact. How did you do this?’ You all work together to make sure that everybody wins.”

The merger is expected to be completed in the second half of 2023, and it remains to be seen how it will play out.

Meanwhile, UFC is gearing up for its UFC 287 event on Saturday, April 8, which will be headlined by Alex Pereira defending his UFC Middleweight Championship against Israel Adesanya.
