Vince McMahon’s return to WWE as the Executive Chairman made it pretty obvious that he planned on selling the company to the highest bidder. After almost months of going back and forth between potential buyers, WWE was sold to UFC’s parent company Endeavor. Obviously, UFC President Dana White had a huge hand in the deal as well. In fact, he believes the merger will help both companies bolster their fanbases.

Endeavor is now the controlling owner of WWE, and they will merge UFC and WWE into a new publicly traded company. This is truly a massive deal and will lead to significant changes that will be felt by both pro wrestling as well as the Combat sports world for a long time.

While speaking with The Associated Press, UFC President Dana White talked about WWE and UFC’s merger. Dana White made it clear that he is very confident with the deal in many ways.

Dana White went into detail about the merger. White believes the merger will help both promotions earn new fans. Dana White also noted just how convenient the whole deal is for both companies as the communication will only serve to help grow both the WWE and UFC.

So you have the power of the fanbase of the WWE, you have the power of the fanbase of the UFC, and you got my power of the … viral ability and whatever that fanbase is going to be for ‘Power Slap,’ and we can reach all these people in so many different ways,” White said. “There’s a lot more resources now. WWE has a lot more resources. It’s a phone call away now . All we got to do is pick up the phone and say, ‘Hey, how did this happen? … or how did you do this?’ You all work together to make sure that everybody wins. We’ve been together on the same weekend many times, you know? And, you come out of a UFC event and you’ve got ‘Monday Night Raw.’ But who knows, you know? These are all things that could be figured out on the business side.”

Vince McMahon is already back in the Creative fold after making numerous changes on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. As for the UFC, their pay-per-view model remains as strong and the partnership will only serve to help both promotions in the long run. We’ll have to wait and see how they will both fare in the long run.

What’s your take on what Dana White said? Are you looking forward to the merger? Sound off in the comments!
