Blake Monroe has one blunt piece of relationship advice for anyone working inside WWE: stay away from other wrestlers.
The Glamour addressed dating within the wrestling business while speaking to TMZ’s Inside the Ring. When asked whether WWE was a good place for single wrestlers to meet someone, Monroe immediately warned against mixing romance with life on the road.
“Don’t date wrestlers. That would be my advice as a wrestler. I mean, I might, but just a word of advice—don’t date them.”
Monroe admitted there is a reason wrestlers constantly end up dating each other. WWE stars spend most of their lives traveling, working unusual schedules and performing in a business that outsiders may not completely understand. She also explained that wrestling can be provocative, which may create jealousy when someone outside the business sees their partner selling themselves physically on television.
“I think the reason wrestlers date each other is because nobody understands our schedule and our business. You’re on the road a lot. What we do is a little provocative, and you kind of have to sell almost yourself. I feel like a lot of guys would get jealous if their girl was doing that, and a lot of women might find it hard.”
Monroe said workplace romances are not exclusive to WWE. People naturally build relationships with those they spend the most time around, and wrestlers are together almost constantly.
“In any workplace, people are going to date because of the proximity. You’re just with people all the time. That’s how you fall in love.”
Monroe then leaned fully into The Glamour persona by claiming that falling for her is especially easy.
“Obviously, it’s quite easy to fall in love with me. People have and probably will continue to do so.”
When asked whether people regularly make offers to take her out, Monroe did not hesitate.
“All the time.”
Monroe may be warning wrestlers against backstage relationships, but she is not pretending she would never break her own rule. For now, anyone trying to win over The Glamour should understand that the competition is already lining up.
