WrestleMania 39 is in the rearview mirror, and that called for a main event match on both nights. Since Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes wasn’t leaving the main event spot on WrestleMania Sunday, that left Saturday up for debate. While the slot went to the tag team title match, many believe that Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley should have received the spot.

During his podcast, Ric Flair discussed WWE’s decision to “break tradition” at WrestleMania 39 and have the WWE tag team title match close the show instead of a singles match.

Ric Flair did not personally agree with this decision. He also questioned the logic behind it.

The Nature Boy argued that it was not a good idea for the tag team match between Sami and KO and The Usos to go on after Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. He questioned why the company was breaking tradition for just one night and for what reason.

“We’re talking about what I think should personally happen in the promotion. There’s no way that Sami and KO and The Usos would go on after Ashley [Charlotte] and Rhea, no way. Only in the WWE. [Conrad says that he thinks that The Usos vs. KO and Sami had the better story] That’s not the point. We’re talking about a single Championship from a girl that won the Royal Rumble. Why are we just breaking tradition just for one [night], for what? Why are we breaking tradition for one night?”

Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair still gave a main event level performance in SoFi Stadium. Only time will tell when they will meet again, but The Queen’s hiatus from WWE might mean a much longer wait for that to happen.
