Vince McMahon returned to power in WWE, and that came with big change backstage. The company is pretty much operating in the same way it did before, and Triple H is relegated to “busy work.”

A big question is present about how Vince McMahon will treat his roster full of talent, Cody Rhodes in particular. While the jury is still out, Cody might not need to worry too much.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up the fact that Vince McMahon is the one who tried so hard to get Cody Rhodes back in the first place. Triple H might have been given the task to book Cody while Vince was away, but now that Mr. McMahon is back, it’s probably not a big worry for The American Nightmare.

“Another thing is that Vince is the one who personally recruited Cody Rhodes, not Triple H. Not that Triple H didn’t use him well, he used him great. But, Vince was the one who flew to Cody with Bruce Prichard and Cody at the time wasn’t looking to go.”

“Bruce Prichard called and asked ‘are you interested,’ and Cody said ‘I might as well hear them out, I’m a free agent.’ Then Vince flew down to see him, and once Vince flies down to see you, you know, he’s got that aura, and he’s convince. Cody still had to go back and forth and everything, but it was Vince who largely was the one who got this deal done, so Cody’s not some guy that Vince hates, he’s a guy that Vince brought in.”

It was noted that Vince McMahon’s return will not hurt Cody Rhodes, or his title chase. The fact is that they teased a stipulation where Cody could never challenge for Roman Reigns’ title again during RAW this week, and they never had the match.

Cody Rhodes did not win at WrestleMania 39, but that was a decision WWE made a long time before Endeavor bought the company. Vince McMahon’s return to power likely won’t hurt Cody Rhodes, because it was McMahon who wanted him there in the first place.

We’ll have to see if Vince McMahon feels the same way about other people that Triple H brought back, like Karrion Kross, Bronson Reed, and Tegan Nox. Vince is back in control of WWE’s big picture, so they might still not have a place on his roster.
