CM Punk remains one of the most divisive names in professional wrestling for many reasons. That being said, Punk tends to cause trouble in any promotion he is in by the looks of it. While he remains absent from AEW television, it seems Punk is looking to get back in now.

During the post-AEW All Out media scrum, CM Punk blasted Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks, which led to considerable backlash and damage to his reputation within the company.

The fallout from his actions has continued to be a topic of discussion. Since then, Punk has been absent from the wrestling scene due to a triceps injury that required surgery. He has been making progress towards recovery, and his suspension likely added to his prolonged absence.

For a while now, CM Punk has been teasing his return to the squared circle.

The latest of those was Punk posting a comment referencing a backstage fight between Koko Ware and Steve Keirn, mentioning the fact that Jerry Lawler brought them into the office the following day and they squashed their issues.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed CM Punk’s post and noted that The Second City Saint wants to get back into AEW after recovering from his injury.

“What it says is that he wants back in. Which we’ve already known, other people have said that too, that he’s looking to get back in. It’s up to Tony (Khan) and Tony’s gonna make a decision at some point.

He’s probably just about ready, if not ready already, from the torn triceps, so it is one of those things that he can do soon enough.”

CM Punk was also censored on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. CM Punk and The Elite have not mended fences while he remains on the shelf after suffering a triceps injury. It remains to be seen when Punk will return to AEW television.
