Taya Valkyrie showed up in AEW this week as she surprised Jade Cargill. This is an interesting situation, because Cargill’s winning streak might be close to its end. This shouldn’t have been a huge surprise for a lot of people, because Taya’s AEW debut was telegraphed pretty well within the pro wrestling world.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that several pro wrestling companies were told that Taya Valkyrie inked a new deal with Tony Khan’s company as far back as February. That being said, she is still slated to film for another show in April.

Fightful spoke to Taya in early February, and she told us that she’d hoped to nail down a long-term contract in 2023. We can confirm that she’s either signed, or intends to sign with AEW, and had informed other companies that she was working with about her plans.

We’re told that several companies were made aware of her signing as far back as February. She’s still scheduled and set for April Major League Wrestling tapings, and intends to make those dates.

Taya Valkyrie inked deal with AEW, and now her story with Tony Khan’s company can finally start. She took her time to arrive in AEW, but she seemed very excited to kick things off in Canada this week.
