AEW has one of the best pools of professional wrestlers in the world right now, from all walks of life as well as different styles of pro wrestling. However, fans have noticed quite a few pro wrestlers haven’t been on AEW television in a while. It seems there is a good reason for that.

Last night’s AEW Dynamite event was held in El Paso, Texas, where a dose of lucha libre-style wrestling would have fit perfectly with the local crowd. Unfortunately, fan-favorite luchadores such as the Lucha Bros and Bandido were not on the card.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an explanation as to why talent have been missing. Meltzer revealed that quite a few talent are currently dealing with visa issues.

“A lot of people brought up, what happened with Pentagon, Fenix and Bandido? There’s vi sa issues and it’s all through wrestling right now. WWE’s finally cleared it up, they had (Ilja) Dragunov back and (Meiko) Satomura’s coming back. But so many of these people have had issues coming in, and right now… here you are in El Paso, Texas, and Bandido, Fenix and Pentagon would have been over like crazy on this show, and they were not even on the show.

They weren’t on Dark ‘Elevation’, I knew they weren’t gonna be on Dynamite, but they weren’t on Rampage either.

They probably would have been the most over guys on the entire show actually. I would think Pentagon would have been the most over guy on the show, had he been available for the show.”

Kenny Omega most notably had issues with his visa a while ago, which kept him away from AEW television for a few weeks. WWE also had visa issues with their talent and some of them are still struggling with visa issues.

NXT has faced several challenges in recent times, including visa-related absences of top talents such as Gallus and Tyler Bate, who have only recently returned to the ring. Another wrestler, Nathan Frazer, has been away from the ring for an extended period of time and has yet to make his return.
