WWE Hall of Famer Edge shocked the world after making his return to pro wrestling during the 2020 Royal Rumble. It was 9 years after he was forced into retirement due to a neck injury. With WrestleMania 39 fast approaching, it seems WWE could have big plans for the Rated R Superstar since they didn’t pull the trigger on what they had planned at Mania.

Edge was the leader of Judgment Day until he was kicked out of the faction. He started feuding with them but was then written off WWE television. Fans continued to wonder what will become of Edge after such a long hiatus.

Rumors had suggested that Finn Balor and Edge were going to compete in a Hell In a Cell match at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. However, that match will not be taking place.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that despite the match’s cancellation, WWE could still have Balor and Edge compete in a Hell In A Cell match at WrestleMania 39. After all, the Mountain Dew Pitch Black match will consist of Bray Wyatt and LA Knight instead.

Edge was always going to be on the show with Balor, and I don’t know what happened there, they were gonna do that Hell in a Cell match Edge and Balor on the show, and they decided against it. The angle was already shot, so maybe they’re saving it for Mania, and they’ll do an angle at the Rumble? There’s no reason for it not to be him, but to me, his first appearance back should be to get revenge on the guys who put him out, not to be in the Royal Rumble as a surprise.

We will have to wait and see when Edge will make his return to WWE television because fans simply miss him. After all, a huge match with Balor at WrestleMania 39 would definitely be the best direction for Edge.
