WWE is rapidly approaching one of the most exciting events of the year, the Royal Rumble, set to take place this Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The event will kick off the road to the Showcase of the Immortals, WrestleMania. Each year, we see many surprise returns in the namesake over-the-top-rope melee. It looks like Candice Michelle could be one of those entrants this year.

Candice Michelle initially started her career as a model before signing with WWE in 2004. She started making appearances on Monday Night RAW, participating in various different contests on the flagship show.

Later on, Candice Michelle went on to have a romantic on-screen program with WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon, where she was portrayed as his slave. During the same time, she battled the likes of superstars such as Torrie Wilson, Victoria, and Trish Stratus.

Despite being perceived as a mere model, Candice Michelle proved her worth inside the squared circle by defeating Melina to capture her first WWE Women’s Championship at Vengeance in 2007.

Candice Michelle’s tenure in WWE came to an end in June 2009 when she was released from her contract. That being said, the former WWE Women’s champion recently spoke about the possibility of appearing in this year’s Royal Rumble match during an interview with Steve Fall.

“I wish I was going. Every year people are like, ‘How come you’re not there? Why are you not in this?’ One year they mentioned I was there but never called me. It just hasn’t been my time. I’m open for it. I’m looking forward to the year when it’s my time and I don’t think this year is my time either, but you never know. WWE likes to call you like the day before and say, ‘By the way, can you come down tomorrow?’ So I’m not planning on being there this year, but I’ll watch and support and hopefully one of these years it’s my time to be there.”

Candice Michelle’s last appearance on WWE television programming was at the RAW Reunion in 2019, where she won the WWE 24/7 championship, only to drop that belt to Alundra Blayze shortly after. It could be interesting to see Candice pop up at the Rumble event and perhaps display her athleticism one more time in front of the WWE Universe.

We’ll have to see who shows up at the Royal Rumble. Keep checking back with Ringside News as we continue covering everything leading up to the big event.
