Chris Jericho issued an open challenge for his ROH World Championship during the November 2 episode of AEW Dynamite. Any former ROH champion was eligible for the task. Ultimately, it was Colt Cabana who answered the call. Now it seems Cabana is working as a producer in AEW.

Colt Cabana’s music hit and the former ROH Tag Team Champion came out and answered Jericho’s challenge. Fans were elated to see Boom Boom back, but he wasn’t able to defeat The Ocho despite his best efforts.

AEW also ended up making the CM Punk situation worse with Colt Cabana’s appearance. Cabana’s appearance was also a one-off deal. That being said, fans wondered where Cabana has been since then.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Colt Cabana has recently been working as a backstage producer for a while now.

“Colt Cabana has been back working as a producer backstage and was also on BTE this past week. He was in a skit where he was in the background as Alex Reynolds & John Silver & Evil Uno were working on recruiting somebody into the Dark Order.

They talked about wanting somebody 6-foot or 6-foot-1, dark hair, good wrestler and college educated and have a history with while Cabana was in the background thinking he was getting back into the group.

Then they walked toward him and right past him, and around the corner was John Hennigan, who they recruited with the idea his name would be Johnny Dark Order.”

We will have to wait and see whether Colt Cabana will ever make his return to AEW television somewhere down the line. He could always appear during the next ROH show. By the looks of it, that may not be happening anytime soon, because he seems happy with his new backstage responsibilities.
