Mickie James will always be regarded as one of the pioneers of women’s wrestling. Ever since the last leg of her career, called ‘The Last Rodeo’ began, Mickie James has been struggling with the possibility of retirement that could be closing in.

Mickie James carved a Hall of Fame-worthy career throughout the years, working for promotions like WWE and IMPACT Wrestling. However, even after two decades of being in the wrestling business, it looks like James is still struggling with the thought of exiting the business for good.

The 10-time Women’s champion has been performing exceptionally well in the ring during her Last Rodeo. Mickie James recently opened up about the possibility of facing retirement and the mixed emotions she is experiencing during an interview with Women’s Wrestling Talk.

“I don’t want anyone to end the Last Rodeo,” James said. “This is my career, it’s my livelihood. This is my love, it’s my passion. It’s something that I’ve dedicated over two decades of my life to. That’s pretty much half my life has been wrestling, and it has given me everything.”

Mickie James further reflected on the importance of wrestling in her life, crediting it for everything she has achieved, from a successful career to meeting her husband, Nick Aldis, and having a son with him.

“It’s a struggle, the ‘retire’ word. It’s a sadness because it’s an ending of a book you never really, truly want to close.”

Mickie James defeated the likes of Gisele Shaw, Mia Yim, Deonna Purrazzo, Chelsea Green, and Taylor Wilde during her Last Rodeo. She is set to battle Jordynne Grace for the IMPACT Knockouts championship at Hard to Kill in a “Title vs Career match.” We’ll have to see how this all ends for the Hall of Famer.
