Sasha Banks is regarded as one of the best female professional wrestlers of all time, and it’s not hard to see why. She became the talk of the town after walking out on WWE RAW last year. Following a ton of speculation and rumors, Banks made her way to NJPW as Mercedes Mone. That being said, it seems Mone might have heat on her following her NJPW debut.

Sasha Banks made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17, where she debuted as ‘The CEO’ Mercedes Mone. She came out after KAIRI’s successful title defense against Tam Nakano. Fans were incredibly happy for Mercedes after her debut and hoped the best for Mone.

Mone is set to challenge KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are some people who do not want Mone to upload photos with stars from other companies.

The belief is that Mercedes Mone is promoting rival companies more than her own. In fact, others also believe Mone has been promoting Sendai Girls and Tokyo Joshi Pro more than STARDOM and NJPW. Due to this, Mone might have some heat on her now.

“There were people talking because of the belief Mone has been promoting Sendai Girls and Tokyo Joshi Pro more than Stardom and the IWGP women’s title.

She posted photos from the Sendai Girls dojo saying she wanted to wrestle women that work for that promotion and Tokyo Joshi Pro. The feeling is that now that she’s with Bushiroad she (should) be only promoting Bushiroad companies in Japan.

When she was in Japan she didn’t go to any Stardom events nor go to the dojo. I don’t know that anyone expected her to, but talking about rival companies and going to the Sendai Girls dojo (it’s the company owned by Meiko Satomura) and it’s just Japanese business and it’s very likely nobody has ever explained that mentality to her.

In fact I doubt they will, because the big numbers for the Tokyo Dome show, while largely attributed to Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay, she likely helped as well even though not advertised ahead of time as the word was out.”

There was also a good reason for Mercedes Mone’s lackluster live reaction to her debut in NJPW. There is the belief that Mercedes Mone will be following in Brock Lesnar’s footsteps after her NJPW debut. We’ll have to see if Mone will end up beating KAIRI for the title next month, as fans would love that to happen.
