WWE Hall of Famer DDP truly loves professional wrestling, as he has been part of the industry for more than half of his time on earth. He has been part of a lot of major pro wrestling events and has also been there for his peers. Many pro wrestlers respect him, and that includes Randy Orton, who sent him a text after Ric Flair’s final match.

Ric Flair finally got the opportunity to retire on his own terms in July. The Nature Boy partnered up with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo and faced Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett on July 31st, 2022.

The match itself was criticized for a lot of reasons, as many fans felt it should have never happened in the first place. While speaking to Comic Book Movie, DDP revealed that Randy Orton sent him a funny message after Ric Flair’s final match.

“He said, ‘I heard you said some things about me. Thank you so much for the accolades. Randy said, ‘Saw the Diamond Cutter at Flair’s final match. I immediately Googled your age and thought to myself, bravo. You can still look as good as you do and be able to do what you do and still be healthy. That is number one, when it is all said and done.’ Then he said, ‘The money’s number one,’ and I honestly just started laughing because yeah, the money, where do we end up?”

Ric Flair also previously hinted at competing in yet another match, which worried fans. Regardless, fans will continue to monitor what The Nature Boy will do, and that’s all that matters. As for Randy Orton, he is likely to return from injury next year, so we’ll have to wait until then.
