The New Day can easily be regarded as one of the greatest tag teams on all time. In their time together as a team, they have won multiple tag team championship. However, the only tag title they hadn’t so far was the NXT Tag Team Championship.

This is why fans were elated when New Day appeared on the go home show for NXT Deadline and challenged Pretty Deadly to match for the NXT Tag Team Championships. At Deadline, New Day emerged victorious, making them the second team after FTR to win the RAW, SmackDown, and NXT Tag Team Titles.

The New Day recently spoke to Sports Illustrated. During the interview, they explained how it was to work with Pretty Deadly, stating that they want to help them flourish.

“Pretty Deadly is so talented. And they’re going to be even bigger than they are now. It’s all about getting experience and getting in there with experienced superstars, then spreading their wings to fly. Anything we can do to help that, we’re here for it. We want them to flourish. That’s what we’re here to do, and I’m looking forward to mixing it up with them again,” said Kofi Kingston.

Xavier Woods added, “Everybody brought their full selves to that match, which was easy to tell. We love getting a chance to tell our stories in the way we want to tell them. And it is the job of the current generation to give their knowledge to the next generation, so that will be the best era of pro wrestling. That’s very important to us, and it’s a responsibility for us to teach what we know.”

Following NXT Deadline, Shawn Michaels said that New Day was open to sticking around NXT for the long term, while also stating that he wanted New Day to be a part of Vengeance Day. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we keep you updated on this story as it develops.
