Brian Kendrick was set to debut in AEW, in a match against Jon Moxley back in February. Kendrick had parted ways with WWE just before his impending AEW debut. Unfortunately, AEW nixed the match after past offensive comments made by Brian resurfaced online. It has been many months since that incident and now it seems Kendrick still hasn’t given up on another in-ring run.
Last month, Kendrick tried out as a producer in WWE. He produced the Ronda Rousey versus Shotzi Blackheart match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WWE Survivor Series WarGames along with Jason Jordan.
Brian Kendrick’s inclusion was also seen as surprise by many in WWE. While speaking during a virtual signing with Captain’s Corner, Brian Kendrick made it clear that he still wants another in-ring run, in a company of his choosing.
It’s something I strive for [to have another in-ring run with a major company]. Yeah, it’s something I strive for. Whatever happens, happens but it’s something I strive for, yeah.
Ronda Rousey had personally requested Kendrick produce her match. Despite his appearance, WWE has not hired Brian Kendrick back and may not do so in the end. We’ll have to see where Kendrick will end up next.
