AEW Talent Thought William Regal Would Leave Right After Triple H’s WWE Takeover

William Regal is one of the most well-known pro wrestlers in the industry, and he is truly genius of the business. He came to AEW when Vince McMahon was in charge but everything changed after Triple H took over. In fact, even AEW talent thought Regal would leave after Triple H took over.

As previously reported, William Regal has officially left AEW. This is because he wanted to be in WWE and work with his son in NXT.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW talent first thought Regal was returning to WWE following comments made after Triple H took over.

“It should be noted that talent in AEW got their first hint Regal wanted to leave from comments that took place right after Paul Levesque was officially announced for his new position in WWE. He said he would have to think about that.”

William Regal will also not appear on WWE television as part of his AEW release. It remains to be seen how William Regal will fare in WWE now that he will be going back there.
