Tony Khan confirmed William Regal’s departure from AEW during the pre-ROH Final Battle call on December 7th. He said the wrestling legend wishes to return to WWE to work alongside his son, Charlie Dempsey. However, it appears that all preparations are not yet complete, since Shawn Michaels recently stated that William’s return to WWE is not yet official.

Shawn Michales revealed it during the NXT Deadline conference call. He expressed his excitement at William’s return to WWE and NXT. Shawn did, however, also say that he will provide more information and that he will stay tuned because the air is still not clear on William’s WWE return.

With all due respect for William Regal and what it means to NXT and the WWE and of course Wrestling at all levels, nothing would thrill me more, I’ll give you more information, I would obviously stay tuned because hopefully, we all know a little bit more if we get down the road but honestly right now, I’m the guy who’s been reading from you guys so um that’s what we are after for the time being.

After turning on Blackpool Combat Club member Jon Moxley during the November 19th Full Gear pay-per-view, it was reported that Regal was on his way out of AEW. Regal recently said goodbye to Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta through an emotional message, as previously reported.

William Regal made what appears to be his final AEW appearance on the December 7th edition of Dynamite. Now, fans must be waiting to see when Regal will return to WWE. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Ringside News.
