During his in-ring career, WWE Hall of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts received numerous honors. However, there is one aspect of the professional wrestling industry that Roberts was never able to fully dive into. He recently expressed his desire to do so and get involved in the broadcasting side of things.

Roberts revealed on the latest episode of The Snake Pit show on AdFreeShows, that he still hopes AEW would give him the opportunity. He revealed that he wants to get into broadcasting.

I sure do [hope to get into broadcasting]. I sure do. I’m hoping AEW will give me that opportunity, but they may not. I don’t know. I would love to do it.

In addition to multiple WCW and WWF commentary appearances in the 1990s, Roberts appeared for a few guest spots on commentary during AEW Dark while serving as Lance Archer’s manager. Roberts last made an appearance on commentary for the company in 2021. It now appears that Roberts intends to step up these appearances and secure a more permanent position at the commentary booth for the company in the future.

Despite having some health issues in recent years, Roberts recently disclosed that he had completed his oxygen treatments and was able to return to work at AEW. All that is left to be determined whether Roberts will have the opportunity to land a commentary position for AEW Dynamite, AEW Rampage, or one of the company’s online shows.

The WWE Hall of Famer still maintains a rough-around-the-edges onscreen persona that helps him stand out. He could be a good choice to shake up the commentary booth, even though he no longer carries his patented snake around with him these days. Let’s see what happens.
