Tonight’s SmackDown is set to feature the final match in the SmackDown World Cup Tournament. Santos Escobar representing Mexico will take on Ricochet representing the United States to determine the winner of the the tournament.

It should be interesting to see how things play out on tonight’s show.

SmackDown kicks off with Sami Zayn coming down to the ring with The Usos and Solo Sikoa for our opening match. Zayn starts his promo to credit all of the Bloodline, Jimmy Uso cuts him off to let everyone know it’s not about them, it’s all about Sami Zayn tonight, Jimmy calls Sami the MVP of the WarGames match. Jey Uso tells Zayn that now, he respects Sami Zayn and embraces him as part of the Bloodline. Jimmy asks Zayn how he’s doing, to a huge reaction from the crowd Zayn says he’s feeling “very freakin Ucey” and Zayn and The Usos debut a handshake together that I will officially refer to as the “Ucey shake” pay me now Hunter.

Sami Zayn vs Sheamus

The match begins with Sheamus driving Zayn to the corner. Zayn slips out of the corner but is Irish whipped Zayn right to the corner. Zayn blocks a hip toss and Sheamus responds by hitting a lariat.

*Commercial break*

Back live with Zayn rolling out of the ring and Sheamus following to hit an uppercut, As Sheamus tries to get back in the ring Zayn takes advantage to hit a DDT and cover for two. Zayn hits a tornado DDT from off the middle rope and Sheamus again kicks out at two. Zayn wraps Sheamus up and goes for 10 beats of the Bodhran but Sheamus catches Zayn’s arm and hits a back elbow to knock Zayn back. Sheamus hits a running lariat in the corner and follows with a power slam. Sheamus then goes for the beats of the Bohdran but Zayn slams Sheamus ff the rope. Zayn dives from the top but is caught and hit with the Irish curse. Sheamus locks in the cloverleaf submission but Zayn is able to crawl to the bottom rope to force the break. Zayn pulls the top rope to send Sheamus out of the ring and Zayn hits a dive over the top rope to Sheamus.

*Commercial break*

Back live with Zayn on the top rope. Sheamus runs up top but is sent back down with a punch. Zayn dives and Sheamus counters with a running knee, Sheamus then covers for a two count. Sheamus lifts Zayn and climbs the top rope for an Irish curse but Zayn rolls through and hits a powerbomb off the top and Zayn covers for two. Sheamus goes for the Brogue kick but Zayn rolls to the apron, Sheamus then grabs Zayn on the apron and hits the 10 beats of the Bodhran. Sheamus sets up for the Brogue kick but Jimmy Uso causes a distraction. Zayn then hits the blue thunder bomb and gets a two count from it. A brawl breaks out between The Brawling Brute and the Bloodline outside the ring. Zayn goes for the Helluva kick but Sheamus counters with a running knee. Seamus goes for an Irish curse but with the ref distracted by the outside brawl, Jey Uso, yes Jey, runs in the ring and hits Sheamus with a super kick. Zayn then covers for three.

Winner: Sami Zayn

Back live with Bray Wyatt giving a backstage promo. Wyatt says that technology has us all forgetting that we were once nothing more than animals trying to survive. “Some must die so that others may live” Wyatt says these primal instincts are ingrained in all of us, and they are still there. Wyatt says he is not the one who attacked LA Knight, but if he had been the one, you would know, there would be none of him left.

Shayna Baszler vs Emma

The match begins with a lock up. Emma hits a side Russian leg sweep, Baszler rolls to the apron and Emma grabs Baszler only to be tripped up off the middle rope by Baszler. Baszler hits a lariat and then Emma bounces off the ropes and hits a lariat of her own. Emma hits a back elbow and follows with a neckbreaker, Emma then covers for two. Baszler goes for a running knee in the corner but Emma dodges and locks in the tarantula and holds it for the full count of four. Back in the ring Baszler locks in the Kirafuda clutch and Emma eventually taps out.

Winner: Shanya Baszler

After the bell Baszler leaves the hold locked in for a while before eventually releasing, Baszler then goes to stomp on the elbow but Shotzi runs in to try and make the save. Baszler gets the advantage and then she tries to stomp Shotzi’s elbow before Raquel Rodriguez runs in to make the save, Baszler leaves the ring facing a 3-1 disadvantage, as Baszler is booked to look like the absolute killer she was in NXT with it taking three women to cause her to leave with a smile on her face.

Gunther vs Kofi Kingston

The match begins with Kingston hitting a kick to the shin, Gunther grabs and slams Kingston to the mat. Gunther hits a vicious chop and follows with a strike to Kingston’s lower back. Kingston pulls the top rope sending Gunther crashing to the outside. Kingston goes for a dive but Ludwig Kaiser grabs the leg to trip Kingston up with the ref distracted. Gunther hits a big boot and then Braun Strowman runs out and slams Vinci in the ring post and throws Kaiser over the barricade. Kingston hits the SOS and Gunther kicks out at two and rolls out of the ring.

Back live with Gunther having Kingston in a side headlock. Kingston tries to break free and flips over into a pinning situation forcing Gunther to release. Kingston hits a dropkick and then a flying forearm. Kingston hits the boom drop. Gunther dodges the trouble in paradise and goes for a German suplex but Kingston flips out and lands on his feet. Kingston hits a cross body to Gunther’s back and covers for two. Kingston springboards off the ropes right into a chop. Gunther hits a German suplex and covers for two. Gunther locks in a Boston crab and transitions into a crossface. Kingston slips out and goes for the sos but Gunther escapes and hits a drop kick. Gunther hits a power bomb and covers but Kingston kicks out at two as Gunther shows great frustration at this. Gunther hits a power slam and covers and Gunther then gets the three count.

Winner: Gunther

On commentary Michael Cole says that Gunther told him earlier this week he was working on a new finisher he calls the last symphony and Cole says that slam is his new finisher, shout out to Michael Cole for making that clear and making my job here easier.

SmackDown returns with Damage CTRL in the ring. Bayley says that less than a week ago they were in WarGames, and that “those idiots in Buffalo” (Buffalo pronounced incorrectly for maximum heat) cheered Becky Lynch who was barely even in the match when the three of them were in there for over 90 minutes combined.

Damage CTRL is interrupted by Liv Morgan who runs out to the ring and puts up a great fight before the numbers advantage takes effect, making the save is a returning Tegan Nox, who storms to the ring but in a surprising moment of logic Damage CTRL beat her down with the advantage in numbers before Morgan gets back in the ring and uses a Kendo stick to take out Damage CTRL, Nox hits the Shiniest Wizard for good measure as Damage CTRL is forced to retreat.

Ricochet vs Santos Escobar

Our main event SmackDown World Cup Final begins with a lock up that Ricochet transitions into a wrist lock before flipping through and going to spring off the ropes but Legade Del Fantasma distract him causing Escobar to take advantage. Ricochet is able to hit a drop kick and Joaquin Wilde causes a distraction allowing Escobar to roll outside. Escobar climbs back in and Ricochet goes for a springboard dive but is pushed off the ropes by Del Toro. The ref turns around and ejects all three of Legado Del Fantasma from ringside.

*Commercial break*

Our main event continues live with Ricochet hitting a chop in the corner. Ricochet hits a head scissors take down and follows with a drop kick in the corner. Ricochet goes for a springboard dive but is shoved to the outside floor by Escobar. Escobar hits a tope suicida which causes Ricochet to crash into the announce table. Back in the ring Escobar makes the cover for two. Escobar locks in a Liontamer (Hold #1,004) before transitioning to a surfboard hold as the crowd look and cheer for something else happening in the crowd in total disrespect to the two great wrestlers in the ring. Ricochet hits a phenomenal standing shooting star press from off the apron to Escobar on the outside floor.

Back live with Ricochet running to meet Escobar on the top rope and hit s superplex. Escobar and Ricochet trade strikes before they collide with cross bodies knocking them both down. The two roll outside. Escobar dodges a diving Ricochet who catches his balance on the barricade, Escobar meets him on the barricade and Escobar hits a hurincanrana from off the barricade to the floor. Escobar throws Ricochet back in the ring and covers for two. Escobar hits an elbow drop and then immediately locks in a variant of a Camel Clutch. Escobar places Ricochet on the top rope and hits an enziguri. Escobar then goes up top but is knocked down by Ricochet. Escobar rolls out to the apron and then back up top. Escobar hits a huricanrana but Ricochet lands on his feet and hits a vertical suplex and then a beautiful middle rope moonsault, Ricochet covers for a close two count. Ricochet hits a drop kick and goes back up top and goes for the shooting star press but Escobar counters by bringing his knees up. Escobar goes for the phantom driver but Ricochet counters with a roll up for two. Escobar climbs to the top with Ricochet on his shoulders, Ricochet hits a huricanrana off the top and then a super kick. Ricochet climbs up top and Ricochet hits the 630 splash and covers for three to win the SmackDown World Cup.

Winner: Ricochet

Ricochet celebrates with the World Cup, Gunther then walks out to stare down Ricochet, Gunther stands in clear respect for Ricochet while keeping his monster heel aura perfectly, SmackDown goes off the air with Gunther having his title belt and ricochet holding the World Cup as the two stare each other down.
