Ricochet Wins WWE SmackDown World Cup Finals

Ricochet lost the Intercontinental Championship to Gunther during a previous episode of WWE SmackDown. Tonight, he claimed the opportunity to once again challenge for the title by winning a major tournament.

Ricochet squared off against Santos Escobar in the World Cup finals during SmackDown this week. The two put on a great match for the fans in attendance and at home watching.

The closing moments of the match saw Ricochet perform a huricanrana off the top and followed by a super kick. The One and Only climbed up the top and hit the 630 splash for the win.

Ricochet bested Mustafa Ali and Braun Strowman in the buildup to the finals. Santos Escobar, on the other hand, defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and BUTCH in the first round and semifinals respectively.

Ricochet will challenge Gunther for his Intercontinental Championship on the December 16, 2022 edition of SmackDown. It remains to be seen if The One and Only will prevail in the matchup.
