Mercedes Martinez signed up with AEW following a lackluster stint with WWE. Tony Khan brought her to Ring of Honor and booked her to win the ROH Women’s World Championship. Unfortunately, she got injured several months into her reign as champion.

Mercedes Martinez made her televised return during AEW Rampage tonight. The ROH Women’s World Champion arrived in time to make the save for Madison Rayne and referee Aubrey Edwards from Athena, who left the ring as soon as she senses a confrontation.

Tony Khan previously revealed that Mercedes Martinez was cleared to compete and that she was eager to compete on the November 16th taping of AEW Dark: Elevation. She’s also likely to defend the ROH Women’s World Championship at the upcoming ROH Final Battle 2022 PPV on December 10th.
