Mercedes Martinez had a lackluster run in WWE before inevitably getting release by the company. She soon found her way to AEW, and once AEW acquired ROH, she started wrestling there as well.

Earlier this year, we saw Mercedes Martinez triumph over Deonna Purrazzo to become the ROH Women’s World Champion. Soon after, she abruptly dropped out of the picture. Her absence was explained during the AEW Media Call prior All Out, where Tony Khan noted that she was out of action due to an injury. However, the nature of her injury was not disclosed.

Fans of the ROH Women’s World champion can rejoice after knowing that she has been medically cleared to compete. Tony Khan revealed that Mercedes is cleared and that she was eager to compete on the November 16th taping of AEW Dark: Elevation.

Mercedes will also likely be thrilled to defend the ROH Women’s World Championship at the upcoming ROH Final Battle 2022 PPV on December 10th. Mercedes was last seen successfully defending the ROH Women’s Championship against Serena Deeb at ROH Death Before Dishonor prior to her unfortunate injury.
