Konnan ranks among the greatest luchadors of the modern era. His contributions to promotions such as WCW, IMPACT Wrestling or behind the scenes in MLW have been well recognized by the wrestling industry. However, it seems like the legendary luchador is dealing with a major issue.

Konnan is best known for his run in WWE former chief competitor, WCW as a part of the nWo and filthy animals. Konnan also reigned as the first ever CMLL World Champion and leader of the top stable, Foreign Legion in AAA. With years of working in the industry, Konnan has been dealing with kidney issues for a number of years now.

The 58-year old legend was still an active competitor in AAA, whe he had his first kidney transplant surgery in 2007. Konnan’s kidney issues emerged as result of COVID-19, while also being hospitalized back in 2021. Konnan confirmed his current medical condition in a discussion with Wrestling Inc. He is still scheduled for some upcoming major wrestling commitments. Konnan is slated to appear for AAA’s forthcoming events in Tempe, Acupulco and Arizona in December. However, the status of his health affecting his upcoming appearances is still unknown.

The Puerto-Rican legend is now dealing with even significant kidney problems and is looking for a donor with this being the second time that Konnan is seeking for a kidney transplant. Rumors speculated in January that he reportedly found a donor, although it is unclear whether that came through or if the transplant is necessary at the moment. Around the same time, he also underwent a heart surgery.

Ringside News sends its wishes for Konnan’s health and hope for his speedy recovery.
