Tony Khan Didn’t Know What CM Punk Was Going To Say During AEW All Out Media Scrum

The AEW All Out media scrum ended in chaos. CM Punk went on a scathing rant on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks, verbally decimating everyone involved. Tony Khan recently said that he didn’t know what Punk was going to say.

During the AEW Full Gear media conference, Tony Khan was asked why he didn’t stop CM Punk during the All Out media scrum. He replied that even he was blindsided by Punk’s comments. Khan did not see what was coming. He refused to comment about anything beyond that.

Many people felt this was a disrespectful move and that Khan should have cut off Punk’s mic. However, the AEW President was clearly blindsided by CM Punk’s outburst and couldn’t say a single thing to stop him. Things only turned for the worse afterwards.

These comments resulted in a backstage altercation between CM Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite, during which Ace Steel bit Kenny Omega’s arm and also threw chair at Nick Jackson that hit him in the eye. As a result, all the members involved in the altercation were suspended and also stripped off their respective titles. Ace Steel was fired, and there is talk of buying out CM Punk’s AEW contract. If anything, it sure got a lot of people talking.
