Ric Flair wrestled his final match, but he is still very much aware of what is going on in the greater pro wrestling world. The Nature Boy also has his own take on CM Punk’s current situation.

During his Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair brought up CM Punk’s situation and whether he believes that a WWE return is in his future. Flair has been through a lot in his career, so he can see anything happening.

“In this day and age, I can see anything. I mean, that was very heated. I wasn’t there during all that. As I’ve said before, I only know him to say hi. But that lawsuit with the doctor and all that, I don’t know how the guys would handle that. I don’t think he was a candidate for wrestler of the year when he was there. I think he thought he was better than John Cena, which is absolutely not the truth as far as being the face of the company. I’ve heard the remark that he should have been John Cena, and in my opinion, that wouldn’t fly.”

We’ll have to see if CM Punk makes his way back to WWE eventually. Odds are his story with AEW is not finished, because reports of the company’s interest in buying out his contract are still circulating.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
