Adam Cole is certainly one of the most skilled in-ring competitors in the pro wrestling world right now. He left NXT last year and made his way to AEW, which certainly made fans happy. After an injury hiatus, Cole’s return now remains unpredictable.
Cole competed in a fatal four-way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight title at Forbidden Door, despite being injured before the match. The match led to him suffering a concussion as well, and he hasn’t returned to in-ring competition yet.
The accomplished star returned on AEW Dynamite back in August and got a bit physical as well, but he has been absent since then. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Cole’s AEW future is in doubt due to his injury, which is more serious than expected.
“It’s a concussion, it’s a bad concussion. Real bad concussion. He’ll be back when he’s cleared – it could be tomorrow, and it could be never, you know what I mean?”
With Bobby Fish no longer in AEW, we will have to wait and see what AEW will have planned for Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly next. For the time being, things don’t look all that good for them.
