Wardlow Believes AEW World Title Picture Is ‘In Shambles’

Wardlow is definitely one of the more popular homegrown stars in AEW today. With him being the current TNT Champion and on Dynamite regularly, it is likely he will be a World Champion one day. That being said, he also has a very interesting viewpoint on how that title picture is looking right now.

Mr. Mayhem has been on a roll for the past several months and even became the TNT Champion after defeating Scorpio Sky. Since then, he has been unstoppable as the champion.

The AEW World Title scene has been nothing short of a mess ever since CM Punk beat Adam Page for the title back in May. Moxley is now the champion for the third time after beating Bryan Danielson on Dynamite. Of course, Punk’s injury and a brawl after the All Out media scrum also played into things.

While speaking to the Dynamite Download podcast, Wardlow talked about the current AEW World Title scene and stated that the title is in shambles.

“The state of the Heavyweight Title has been in shambles for months. And the only thing I’ll say about it, is if Wardlow was the AEW World Heavyweight Champion, he would still be the [laughs] AEW World Heavyweight Champion. It would have been the Summer of Wardlow, and it would have been the Fall of Warldow. And it would have been the Winter of Wardlow. And it would have been the Spring of Wardlow. And it would have been the f**king summer again. Like, I ain’t f**king going nowhere. Everybody wants to hot potato that sumbitch; hand it to me, watch me take off.”

We will have to wait and see how Wardlow will be booked in the coming months. He might have suffered an injury, but it has not been confirmed as of yet either.
