AEW has certainly come a long way since its inception back in 2019. The product has undergone many changes since then, but quite a few improvements can still be made. Tony Khan was also criticized for a good reason recently.

The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view saw the best wrestlers from both promotions compete in solid matches. It was a huge success, as fans were exposed to many new wrestlers they had never seen before.

Due to this, Tony Khan made it clear he was open to collaborating with WWE in the future. However, Khan then stated that he is no longer optimistic about working with WWE.

While speaking on his Hall of Fame show, Booker T said that the AEW product would not “mesh” with AEW. He also criticized Khan for his wishful thinking over a possible collaboration.

“As far as Tony Khan being optimistic about them being able to work together, maybe that was just wishful thinking. I just do not think a company like AEW, what they stand for and what they do, is going to mesh with what WWE and what they’re trying to do. Those are two different shows, two totally different planets, and I just don’t think those planets are going to merge together. I just don’t see it,

While a few AEW stars appeared during John Cena’s 20th-anniversary celebration, as well as Chris Jericho appeared on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, it seems a proper collaboration between the two might never happen.
