Will Ospreay challenged Kota Ibushi for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW’s Sakura Genesis event last year. Ospreay shocked the world after defeating Ibushi to become the new champion and cemented his legacy. Unfortunately, he was forced to relinquish it due to neck injury

The Aerial Assassin has come back with a vengeance since then and has already won championships since his return. He also had a match of the year contender with Orange Cassidy at the Forbidden Door event.

Earlier this year, Ospreay was out of action due to a kidney infection and had to miss shows for Revolution Pro Wrestling and Warrior Wrestling. He took to Twitter and revealed that he nearly died due to the infection.

Came back in 2 weeks.

3 months from that point, tomorrow I’m in the G1 Final on NJPW 50th Anniversary.

I wish I could hear your voices. But I’ll fight with everything I’ve got.

The Aerial Assassin is set to face off against Kazuchika Okada in the finals of the G1 Climax 32. He defeated Tetsuya Naito in the semifinals to earn his spot in the finals. We’ll have to see if he will win the match or not.
