AEW has racked up quite a reputation for signing former WWE stars. Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and CM Punk are among a plethora of ex-WWE talent who are now part of the Jacksonville-based promotion. Another former WWE star showed up on Dynamite this week.

Cole Karter, who used to perform on NXT 2.0 under the ring name Troy “2 Dimes” Donovan made his Dynamite debut this week. Karter was interviewed backstage by Tony Schiavone ahead of his TNT Championship match against “Absolute” Ricky Starks at Fyter Fest tonight.

Starks interrupted the interview and took a major dig at Karter by saying the last time he checked Karter was “sleeping with the fishes.” For those not in the know, Karter was written off WWE TV after Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo threw his body into water. It wasn’t out-right said that Two Dimes is dead, but it was heavily implied, mobster style.

Karter was fired from WWE because he violated their policy due to drugs. The two parties had agreed to an understanding, as the young superstar was told to come back after year. The former NXT 2.0 star appeared on AEW Dark tapings last week. Keep reading Ringside News fore more.
