Michael Elgin’s fall from grace is well known at this point in time.  Elgin was reportedly arrested on allegations of domestic abuse in the summer of last year. He also denied reports that he was arrested in Japan.

As previously reported, Michael Elgin was said to have been arrested in Japan last week for stealing protein powder. Should the reports of him being arrested be truthful, that would explain why Elgin vacated the GHC Tag Team Champions alongside his partner, Masa Kitamiya on July 12th.

In light of these reports, Michael Elgin took to Twitter and denied them vehemently. Elgin then explained that he is leaving Japan for a different reason.

I’m not going to bother saying what happened, but I am going to say. I was not charged for stealing protein. I’m not charged at all, I am not facing jail time. I’m also not deported. I am going to Canada to be with my family after the passing of an extremely close family member

I completely understand people don’t ever want to believe anything other than what they wish were true. I’m not going to debate with people. But, I am on my scheduled flight home. Also, first class. Doesn’t seem like deportation.

The former ROH World Champion was scheduled to wrestle at the July 10th Pro Wrestling NOAH event in Shizuoka but was pulled from the card due to the arrest.
