Cody Rhodes was an executive vice president and an on-screen performer in All Elite Wrestling. He juggled between those responsibilities until reaching an agreement with WWE.

Rhodes made his triumphant return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. The American Nightmare was on a winning streak until he was put to the shelf by a torn pectoral muscle. That, however, didn’t stop him from giving gutsy performance against Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell.

WWE recently dropped another episode of their Grit & Glory series. The latest episode featured Rhodes as Montez Ford’s travel partner. Ford asked Rhodes why he felt it was the best time to come back to WWE.

“Well, I’ll give you a somewhat arrogant answer. And I don’t mean it with arrogance, but I feel like for two, three years, I feel like nobody’s been able to touch me in the ring. And the only way you can say that without feeling a little bit of doubt is having that chip – having extra motivation which is the biggest prize in our world which would be the WWE Championship.”

Rhodes missed the Money in the Bank premium live event due to injury. Ringside News exclusively reported that Rhodes was never penciled in to win the briefcase and that was always going to be Theory.
