Cody Rhodes faced off against Seth Rollins in the main event of Hell In A Cell. The American Nightmare realized just how significant the match was and had no intention of missing out on it regardless of his condition. Rhodes also made history at the event.

WWE was “surprised” that news of The American Nightmare’s injury was leaked. Despite suffering from a legit torn pectoral muscle, Rhodes managed to compete in the match and put on an instant classic.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hell in a Cell managed to get the usual number of Google searches that a WWE special usually gets. However, what’s interesting is the fact that Cody Rhodes himself managed to get the same number of Google searches, making history.

“The show had the usual 200,000 Google searches that most WWE PPV shows get, similar to that of Double or Nothing the week before. There were another 200,000 searches that day for Rhodes, the most of any individual wrestler on a pro wrestling PPV show in years.”

Due to this injury, Rhodes is expected to miss half year of in-ring action. It remains to be seen what the company will have planned for The American Nightmare upon his return.
