June has brought with it an injury bug that is continuing to bite All Elite Wrestling. A couple of wrestlers in the promotion are currently on the shelf due to injuries. It appears that things are only getting worse for the promotion.

Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that he heard about more AEW talent who are injured. He almost came out and revealed one name, but then he stated that they would not have been a part of Forbidden Door anyway. The fact is that injuries to the AEW roster, for people like CM Punk and Bryan Danielson, did change AEW’s plans for the big pay-per-view.

It was also noted that Kenny Omega, who was a huge star in NJPW, would have likely been a big part of Forbidden Door had he not been injured. As we previously reported, The Cleaner has already confirmed he is not Zack Sabre Jr’s mystery opponent.

AEW does not make injury news public. It has never been their policy to announce injuries unless they do so on television. Some have blamed frequent AEW injuries on the fact that those stars are not wrestling as often, so things “hurt more,” as Alvarez noted.

Sean Sapp also reported from behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW has more roster injuries that they have not disclosed. The report came hours before AEW joins New Japan for Forbidden Door in Chicago.

The injury bug has bitten AEW pretty badly of late. We’re told there are other injuries that have not been disclosed publicly that wrestlers are battling. We’ll look to provide an update after this week’s Dynamite.

The outlet also reported that AEW hasn’t brought many superstars who aren’t part of tonight’s pay-per-view event for the show. This could raise speculation about their current status.

Not everyone was brought in to the show tonight. Many regulars who aren’t featured on the show are not in town.

Forbidden Door takes place at the United Center in Chicago. The main event will feature Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi for the AEW Interim World Championship. Read the complete card right here.
