Sasha Banks recently staged a well-documented walk-out from her job at WWE. Banks was unhappy with the way she and Naomi were being booked as Women’s Tag Team Champions and decided she’d had enough. Banks and Naomi were suspended by WWE indefinitely, but a new report suggests there may be a resolution to the drama.

Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. has reported that a source indicated that Sasha Banks has been released by WWE. At this time, WWE has not confirmed or denied the news. Banks has also made no public comment.

If Sasha Banks was given her release, she would immediately become one of the hottest wrestling free agents on the market. Banks has mainstream appeal and may want to further pursue her acting career. Tony Khan and others would be more than happy to talk to Sasha.

With a wide array of options, Sasha Banks’ release would open up a world of opportunity for The Boss. She could immediately elevate the women’s division in AEW. Banks could also test the waters as a Hollywood star.

Sasha Banks elevated herself to stardom during WWE’s Women’s Revolution. Banks, along with Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch marked a major shift in how WWE presents women’s wrestling. Her NXT matches with Bayley have become the stuff of legend. She has been one of the top competitors on the main roster since being called up and eventually headlined WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair.
