Vince McMahon was wrapped up in a big scandal when $3 million of hush money was paid. Now the company is investigating and it doesn’t look good.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE staff was made aware of the Wall Street Journal article and an internal email was issued. This email said that the company is cooperating with an independent investigation.

“The Wall Street Journal has published a report about WWE with allegations that we and our Board of Directors take seriously.

We are cooperating fully with the independent investigation initiated by our Board of Directors.”

Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Nick Khan are all on WWE’s board, so they were made aware of this situation. There was also “immediate speculation that someone in the company intentionally leaked the information.” At the end of the day, Johnny Ace is in hot water.

One former office employee said they believe this will be a “domino effect” and believes Vince McMahon will fight hard to stay, but doesn’t see a situation in which Laurinaitis doesn’t resign.

Johnny Ace was appointed as Head of Talent Relations in 2021. Female talent were a bit uneasy at the time, because he had a preexisting track record of “archaic” practices.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
