Jake Atlas was released from WWE last year and then announced that he was leaving pro wrestling. That was not a long hiatus as he went on to sign a deal with AEW. He is also unlikely to return to AEW by the looks of it.

Jake Atlas duked it out with Adam Cole during a previous episode of AEW Rampage. During the match, Jake Atlas suffered a knee injury which caused many fans to be concerned.

Atlas would then undergo successful surgery to repair his torn ACL and had been recovering since then. However, Atlas was arrested on battery charges after he assaulted his partner last month.

According to Fightful, Jake Atlas isn’t expected to return to AEW. It was noted that Atlas signed a per appearance deal with AEW rather than a full-time contract. After his injury, that deal was paused and Atlas was no longer officially tied to the company. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for Jake Atlas as AEW is no longer in his future.

Atlas was arrested on some pretty serious battery charges, and the story was quite out there as well. AEW has not publicly commented about this story, but it seems that they just aren’t bringing him back.
