Jake Atlas, real name Kenny Marquez, wrestled a match against Serpentico for AEW Dark: Elevation back in December. AEW President and CEO Tony Khan confirmed his signing in January.

Atlas made his televised debut for company with a match against Adam Cole. The bout took place on the January 7th episode of AEW Rampage. Atlas suffered knee injury at one point during the match.

Thankfully, Atlas underwent a successful surgery Tuesday (February 15). He took to Twitter to announce his status. Atlas said he was in good spirits and that AEW had been extremely supportive throughout the whole situation.

“My injury from my match with Adam Cole is, unfortunately, a torn ACL. I’m in good spirits, though. AEW has been extremely supportive throughout & surgery yesterday was a success. I’m disappointed that this occurred so soon after my return to wrestling & joining AEW.

“BUT I’m not going anywhere. I’m not quitting. I worked diligently with prehab before surgery & I look forward to getting straight to work on rehab now post-surgery so that I can get back in the ring as soon as possible & do what I do best.”
