CM Punk has been one of the best things about AEW television since his debut last year. Fans are clearly glad to see him working in a promotion that he loves, but not everyone is necessarily as glad. In fact, Punk’s issues with Colt Cabana could be the reason behind his absence from AEW television.

Colt Cabana has not been seen on AEW programming for quite a while now. This is the case for both Dynamite as well as Dark episodes. Fans have been wondering the reason behind his absence as well.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cabana is set to compete in the ROH brand, should they ever get a television deal in the future. He further added that “this may be in some form be related to his issues with CM Punk.”

Cabana signed a contract with AEW after The Young Bucks pushed for it but he really has not competed in any shows since signing the contract. Cabana has not been seen on AEW programming since partnering up with Alan “5” Angels and losing to The Butcher and The Blade on AEW Dark in early March.

Colt Cabana hasn’t been on the show for a while as he is earmarked for the ROH group if and when that starts. This may be in some form be related to his issues with C.M. Punk. Cabana was signed to a new contract which was pushed for by Matt & Nick Jackson, and worked the ROH PPV show, but has not been at any of the AEW tapings since his new deal was signed

As fans know, Punk and Cabana were inseparable as friends. However, it all ended after Punk’s appearance on Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast in November of 2014 because they were sued by WWE doctor Chris Amann due to Punk’s comments.

Cabana claimed that Punk didn’t cover his legal bills, which was promised to him. After the trial, Cabana filed a lawsuit against Punk, and Punk countersued. Both lawsuits were dismissed but the beef between the two is still clearly alive.
