Johnny Gargano was considered the heart and soul of NXT and for good reason. He had countless solid feuds, with the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole and more. Fans had their hopes up that he would appear on AEW television this week, but he did not. However, someone did not exactly get the memo.

As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the company finally revealed the Jokers for the Men’s and Women’s side of the Owen Hart Tournament. When it came to the Men’s side, Johnny Elite made his debut in AEW.

Prior to Elite’s debut, many believed Johnny Gargano would debut instead. AEW on TV took to their Twitter and accidentally tagged Gargano after Johnny Elite made his debut.

“@JohnnyGargano is here”

The tweet was deleted almost immediately but the damage was done. Samoa Joe defeated Johnny Elite in the match. On the other hand, Gargano is still a free agent as he has yet to make his pro wrestling return since his WWE departure. We’ll have to see where he goes next.
