Ohio Valley Wrestling ended their relationship with WWE in 2008. Since then, the promotion has made short term agreements with the likes of Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Now it seems the promotion is headed towards one of its biggest deals yet as a major streaming service is looking to work with them.

According to Fightful Select, the streaming service deal includes an upcoming series which will chronicle life behind the scenes of the company. This will be a reality television based show.

It is reported that one of the three big streaming giants, Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime, are working with the company. Netflix sources didn’t deny having any wrestling programming planned, though Amazon and Hulu indicated having no such programming in the pipeline. One interesting thing to note is that the broadcaster would have “right to first refusal” on future broadcast rights for OVW.

The program will follow certain OVW talent throughout the Summer. The talent involved with the program will be both unfamiliar and familiar to mainstream wrestling fans. The show is expected to provide full access to both the personal and professional lives of the talent involved.

OVW became the third developmental territory for Impact Wrestling. If the show is to pull from any larger talent in the wrestling world, it would definitely be from there. Professional wrestler Al Snow currently runs the promotion’s day-to-day operations in OVW. It will be interesting to see how he factors into this and how many talents from developmental will be involved.
