Cody Rhodes leaving AEW became one of the biggest topics of discussion in the pro wrestling world. He has now become one of the highlights of Monday Night RAW as fans are clearly behind him. Drew McIntyre also admitted Rhodes was instrumental in forming AEW.

On the other hand, Drew McIntyre is one of the biggest stars in WWE right now. He had a long and arduous path to success in WWE, as his first run with the company was not a memorable one whatsoever.

While speaking on BT Sport, Drew McIntyre gave huge props to Cody Rhodes for undergoing his own journey of growth over the years. McIntyre admits Rhodes was instrumental in forming AEW.

“I knew he was coming and I knew it was the perfect way to bring him back in and set him up for success. He worked so hard outside the company. He built such a great reputation for himself. He’s so instrumental in forming the other company. He’s shown the world what he’s truly made of…He was coming back and he was given the opportunity to present the real Cody. It’s up to him to keep carrying the ball every week and he’s been smashing it. Now, I look forward to see where he’s going to go next.”

Cody Rhodes also didn’t want to be gatekeeper in AEW. Cody Rhodes has tons of matches in WWE ahead of him, and Drew McIntyre could very well be one of his future opponents. We will have to wait and see whether he will defeat Seth Rollins at WrestleMania Backlash as well or not.
